Blending movement, mindfulness, and community for holistic health in Coeur d’Alene

At CDA Power Yoga, the rhythm of breath and movement comes together to create something far more than a workout. It’s an experience of connection, balance, and holistic health. What began in 2018 as a veteran-founded studio dedicated to Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga has, under Ashley Severinsen's ownership, evolved into a welcoming community where every student, from beginner to seasoned practitioner, can find their own version of power and peace.

When Ashley took over in early 2025, after five years of teaching at the studio, her goal was to build on the studio's strong Power Yoga foundation while expanding what it could mean for everyone who walked through the door. “The Power Yoga is still here,” Ashley shares, “and now it’s joined by a balance of Slow Flow, 26&2, Sculpt, Restore, and Yin classes too.” This diversity reflects her core belief that Yoga supports each person wherever they are in life, sometimes calling for an energetic, sweat-filled practice, and other times, for a quiet hour of stillness and breath.

Each class at CDA Power Yoga offers its own kind of transformation. Power Flow brings intensity and movement in a 90-degree infrared-heated room, where students connect strength and ease with each breath. Slow Flow encourages deep stretching and longer holds, while Power + Restore bridges energy and rest in a single class. The 26&2 series, 26 postures taught in the same sequence each time, builds strength, balance, and confidence through consistency.

Ashley’s favorite part of teaching is helping people discover that Yoga is not about flexibility or perfection; it’s about awareness. “Yoga has carried me through times when I needed to build momentum in my life, and it has also taught me to slow down when everything felt like it was moving too fast,” she says. “No matter where you are, Yoga meets you there.”

The studio’s offerings go beyond traditional classes, adding depth through monthly practices like Breathwork and sound baths. Breathwork sessions encourage intentional breathing patterns that can release emotional tension and cultivate clarity.

In addition to classes and workshops, CDA Power Yoga offers retail products that support a lifetime of practice. The studio shop carries Manduka mats, LMNT hydration, Lululemon and Spiritual Gangster activewear, and Satya jewelry—items carefully selected to complement wellness both on and off the mat.

Community is at the center of everything the team at CDA Power Yoga does. Their extraordinary group of teachers, each with unique backgrounds and styles, shares a passion for creating real, in-person experiences that remind us how connected we all are. That connection extends far beyond the studio walls. CDA Power Yoga supports local causes by raising funds and donating supplies to Canopy Village during the holidays and offering discounts to veterans, first responders, and teachers. Through its work-exchange program, the studio ensures that anyone in the community can participate.

Their mission is to help the helpers—to give people one hour of focused movement and breath that restores their energy to serve others with care and pride. From first responders and teachers to parents, healthcare workers, baristas, and everyone in between, each person deserves the chance to refill their cup. After all, it takes a village to create a community as special as Coeur d’Alene.

As winter sets in, CDA Power Yoga continues to welcome new students through its Intro Special: 30 days for $30, available through the end of 2025. The studio also hosts free community classes and special events like Breathwork, sound bath sessions, and a transformative 200-hour teacher training program beginning in January.

At CDA Power Yoga, students don’t just find balance on their mats. They discover a path toward presence, intention, and a deeper sense of self that extends far beyond the studio.
