“We wanted to share our passion with people who maybe don’t own a boat, don’t want to buy a boat, nor have the experience of operating a boat, so they can create the same memories we have made with our family,” smiles Nichelle Holmes.
She, along with husband Reed, are the proud owners of Inland Wake+, where they offer their customers a full boating experience—with 2023 marking their second season here in Coeur d’Alene.
“We had vacationed here every summer from Western Washington (Mt. Rainier area), for 10-plus years, and we knew one day we’d make the move,” shares Nichelle. “We moved here two years ago and love Coeur d’Alene just the way it is. We love being a part of this community, where everyone is so welcoming and kind.”
Growing up on the water, boating and enjoying water sports, Reed shares his passion and love of boating and the outdoors not only with his family (he and Nichelle have an 18-, 8- and almost 3-year-old) but brings his love of boating and water to the business—and their customers.
Inland Wake+’s boating season kicks off around Memorial Day, as the couple eagerly awaits having the privilege to get both locals and visitors alike out on the water for an unforgettable experience. “With our family background, and with us being a small family running this business, once you step onto our boat, you become like family to us,” says Nichelle. “We’re professional, experienced, and our ultimate goal is for everyone to have fun.”
At Inland Wake+, they provide the boat (a Malibu 25 LSV, a 25-foot wakesurf/wakeboard boat), a licensed USCG captain, wake surf coach, USCG-approved life jackets and a selection of boards from beginner to expert. Whether you’re looking for wake surf lessons, sunset surf sessions, lake tours, or cruises to dinner, Inland Wake+ handles it all. Even better, they invite you to celebrate that special moment, such as a bachelorette/bachelor party, proposal or birthday, with them. They’ll make it memorable while you sit back and take it all in.
Inland Wake+ operates not only on Lake Coeur d'Alene but Hayden Lake and Lake Pend Oreille and offers two-, four- and six-hour sessions.
The couple is proud of the business they’ve created, the success they’ve seen, and find the path they’ve chosen truly fulfilling. “It is so gratifying when we see someone smiling behind the boat or on the boat,” Nichelle says. “We truly love it when we can provide an experience our customers won’t forget.”
