North Ridge Homes pairs your unique vision with their time-tested values and techniques By Jillian Chandler
A small custom home builder located in Kootenai County, serving both the Coeur d’Alene and Spokane areas, North Ridge Homes was established in 2004 by husband-and-wife team Dale and Jessica Cargile, with a focus on community, integrity and quality.
It is important to the Cargiles to remain a small company, believing the relationship with their customer is one of the most important aspects of building a custom home. Therefore, they will only take on five to eight projects a year. “It is impossible to deliver a quality, hands-on experience in a large production format,” affirms Dale. “For this reason, we keep our capacity at a level where we, as the owners, can be extremely involved with our customers throughout the entire process.”
Their customers can expect as much design time and on-site meeting time as needed. This hands-on approach is one of the biggest factors reflecting the company’s philosophy. They use an online platform with customers to manage selections, though many of the details for the project are hand-drawn specifically for their home. They aim to help each customer visualize and make decisions, put them in control of the details, and create ease in directing subcontractors and installers. With product offerings that are unlimited, it truly sets North Ridge apart as a custom builder.
Dale’s lifetime of experience in the construction and building industry began when he was 17 years old and went on to include commercial and public works projects spanning across multiple states in the Northwest to include libraries, bridges, apartment complexes, university and government facilities, gas station chains, commercial complexes, hospitals and more. Finding himself tired of traveling for commercial work and wanting to be more available to his family, Dale, along with his wife Jessica, opened North Ridge to have the opportunity to utilize Dale’s skills while serving the local community. Through North Ridge Homes, he brings his deep knowledge of quality building standards to residential construction. “His standards exceed industry norms, because he believes in providing the highest quality at fair pricing to his customers,” Jessica says of her husband.
North Ridge is a true custom home builder, designing floor plans unique to the customer’s land, needs and budget, and they do not limit the areas where a customer can create their own vision, change or modify a plan, or create something brand new. In addition, Dale and Jessica firmly believe that a custom home is not just for the multi-millionaire; a custom home can be built practically, and reasonably, for all levels and stages of life.
“Our design team excels with aging in place and universal design, and we often find ourselves building ‘forever’ homes, dream homes for retirement, and scaled-down living for our customers’ golden years,” says Jessica. “Often though, we build custom homes for young professionals who want to use their money practically, and want to have the ultimate say in the design and function of their home. On any end of the spectrum, there is a balance between budget and desires that can be found.”
With an aesthetic/design style that often comes through as Pacific Northwest or Mountain style, clients will be treated to craftsman features, wood tones and natural elements. “However, we are open to any style the customer is drawn to, and our design team excels at guiding our customers through their selections to achieve the look of their dreams, truly reflect their own personal taste and style, and achieve a cohesive, beautiful design uniquely their own.”
Not many home building companies can say that the owner is available at all times to the customer and hands on in the project with them, with a focus on relationships, personal connection and educating the client—but North Ridge Homes can.
“Our relationship with our customers is everything to us,” Jessica smiles. “It is a privilege to be able to build quality homes for our customers and help bring people’s dreams to life. The creativity we get to have in the process is incredibly gratifying, and the joy of getting to deliver a unique and personalized home to our customers is the reward that keeps us going.”
In addition to the clients they serve, Dale and Jessica take pride in the partnership and culture they’ve created for their employees within the company, with a focus on personal growth, “because each individual has such an enormous impact on the whole team,” notes Jessica. Through their weekly all-team meetings, the team is able to connect with one another, on both a personal and professional level, and team members are encouraged to participate in personal growth seminars and continuing education.
Dale currently serves as vice president of the North Idaho Building Contractors Association, while Jessica sits as vice president of the Professional Women in Building Council and volunteers as a Love Box Leader, working with foster children and families in the local area.
“We both find gratification in contributing locally and forming relationships with our peers in their field. We are lucky to live in such a thriving area and be able to give out time to make a difference in the industry and with our local community,” the couple shares.
If you are envisioning a custom home build, Dale and Jessica will work with you every step of the way to deliver your dream home.
